Not just another teen movie. Jake has some real problems that he must face on his way to becoming an adult. Choices define people and what they become and Jake has HEART. It serves him well. Mistakes he has made and continues to make, but they provide for him a means to correct his personality.
Sean Feris, seemed familiar to me and not because of his TV roles--since I do not watch TV; it was I determined his similarity to Tom Cruise.
Have we seen this movie before--isn't this just a retelling of Rocky? Nope. An underdog fighting for his chance to overcome his limitations is about all that is the same. Rocky was below the standard in academic performance, while Jake definitely was not. Many are the differences otherwise. A great movie and one I would recommend to anybody.
Though unrealistic at times with parts (I\'m a mma fighter) and dramatized, for a MOVIE it wasn\'t that bad. It kept me very entertained, but this movie shouldn\'t take their training and substitute with that of a real gym. In all 5 out of 5 stars.
this is one of those movies you have to see a second time fer suree...=] this was the best movie ive seen in a long time...i recommend everyone seeing it=]
Action Action Action!! I enjoyed the movie. I am a big UFC fight fan and this movie gave me some good inside action in terms of the training involved in being the best. The movie also had a nice subplot about the trainer facing his fears and going back home to see his father.
